Research Faculty
CRS has a fixed staff of 21, including 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 7 assistant professors, and 7 engineers. There are 4 Ph.D. supervisors, 13 staff with doctoral degrees and 2 candidates for a Ph. D. degree. The research staff are young and middle-aged, and they are competent in scientific research, field investigation, and logistic service (Figure 5.1). The CRS station has a good number of outstanding talents, and 3 of them were selected by the "Hundred Talents Program" of the CAS., 1 of them was awarded the CAS Fang Shuquan Scholarship, 1 of them was awarded the CAS K.C.Wong Postdoctoral Foundation, 1 of them was awarded the Young Scientist of Shi Yafeng Cryosphere and Environment Foundation, 2 of them were supported by the CAS “Light of West China” program and 1 of them was awarded the second class prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jiangsu province.

In 2019, the CRS Station determined the Third Academic Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Administrative Measures of the National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station (Refer to Table 6.1). The academic committee is composed of high-level experts in the fields of cryospheric science, geography, geology, ecology, hydrology and climatology, appointing academician Guodong Cheng as the director of the academic committee and academician Yuanming Lai as the deputy director of the academic committee.

The operating system of academic committee of CRS station is as follows:
1)The meeting of the academic committee shall be presided over by the director or deputy director of the academic committee and convened by the secretary of the academic committee.
2)The academic Committee Meeting shall be held regularly every year, and it shall be held only when more than 2/3 members are present.
3)The Academic Committee is mainly responsible for reviewing the major issues such as discipline direction of CRS station, major project applications, station development planning, foreign exchanges and cooperation, and observation network layout.
Members of the academic Committee shall be re-appointed every five years, and the re-appointment procedure shall be implemented according to the relevant regulations of NIEER.
