The Golmud Base is located at No.6 Jiang Yuan South Road, Golmud City, Qinghai Province, about 500 m away from Golmud Railway Station. The station is located at longitude 94°54.5′E, latitude 36°23.6′ N and altitude 2830 m. It covers an area of 10,000 m2 with a construction area of 2263 m2.
The whole station base is fully equipped with water, electricity, heating, telephone and network, including:
1) Comprehensive building with complete functions: with a building area of 1792 m2, it has 30 staff dormitories, which can accommodate 50 scientific research and field observation persons at the same time, one medium-sized (30-40 people) and one small (10-15 people) conference room, and a staff dining hall that can accommodate 50 persons.

2) Standard soil analysis and test laboratories: with a building area of 500 m2, equipped with various instruments and equipment for the analysis of soil physical and chemical characteristics, researchers can analyze and test the physical properties such as soil mechanical composition, bulk density, water content, soil water potential, unsaturated hydraulic conductivity and soil chemical composition, such as ion content, carbon and nitrogen components, microorganisms and other elements.

3) Field monitoring vehicles: a garage of 300 m2 is built, CRS is equipped with 5 field observation vehicles (including 3 Toyota SUVs, 1 pickup truck and 1 tractor) and a Bobcat excavator. All vehicles are in good condition.
4) The field monitoring station of Mahan mountain. A 150 m2 observation and test room is built in the field monitoring site of Mahan mountain, which can accommodate 6-8 people to work at the station at the same time.
